Lesson 3.13 covered client conversations ("where are my results?"). This lesson covers the TECHNICAL problems that will happen: disabled accounts, policy violations, stuck campaigns, and broken lead forms. Bookmark this page — you'll come back to it.

🚨 1. Ad Account Disabled

This is every media buyer's nightmare. Your client's ad account gets disabled. Here's what to do:

Step 1: Don't Panic
It happens to EVERYONE. Sometimes Meta's automated systems flag accounts incorrectly. It's usually fixable.
Step 2: Check the Email
Meta sends an email explaining why. Read it carefully. Common reasons: suspicious payment activity, policy violation, or account quality issues.
Step 3: Request a Review
Go to facebook.com/accountquality → Find the disabled account → Click "Request Review." Write a professional, calm appeal. Explain what you do and that you comply with policies. Takes 24-48 hours.
Step 4: Contact Support (If Needed)
If the review is denied, try live chat support in Business Manager → Help → Contact Support. Having a business verification helps. If all else fails, create a new ad account under the same Business Manager.
🛡️ PREVENTION: Verify the business in Business Manager. Use a legit payment method. Don't make dramatic budget changes. Follow ad policies (see below). This reduces disable risk by 90%.

⚖️ 2. Common Policy Violations

Most policy violations are accidental. Here are the ones that trip up beginners:

Violation
What to Do Instead
🚫 Before/after photos (health, fitness, beauty)
Show the process, not the transformation. "See our approach" not "Look at these results."
🚫 Income/earnings claims
Never promise specific dollar amounts. Say "grow your business" not "make $10K/month."
🚫 Misleading claims
Don't exaggerate. "Best pizza in town" is okay. "Scientifically proven to cure hunger" is not.
🚫 Personal attributes ("Are you overweight?")
Don't call out personal characteristics directly. "Want to feel more confident?" instead.
🚫 Missing Special Ad Category
Housing, credit, employment, and social issues/politics MUST be tagged as Special Ad Category or you get banned.

🔄 3. Campaign Stuck in Learning

Meta needs ~50 conversions per week to exit "Learning" phase. If your campaign is stuck, here's the decision framework:

⏳ WAIT If...
It's been less than 7 days
You're getting SOME conversions
Cost per conversion is acceptable
You haven't made major changes
→ Give it time. Don't touch anything.
🔁 RESET If...
It's been 10+ days with no progress
Zero or near-zero conversions
Cost per conversion is 3x+ your target
You've made multiple edits (restarted learning)
→ Duplicate the ad set, kill the old one. Fresh start.

Pro tip: Every time you make a "significant edit" (budget change > 20%, new creative, audience change), learning resets. This is why we batch optimizations — fewer changes = faster learning.

📈 4. CPM Suddenly Spikes — Diagnosis Framework

CPM (cost per 1,000 impressions) goes up = everything gets more expensive. Here's how to diagnose why:

1
🎨 Creative Fatigue?
Check frequency. If it's 3+, your audience has seen the ads too many times. Fix: Launch new creatives.
2
👥 Audience Saturation?
Is the audience too small? For local businesses with a 5-mile radius, you might run out of people. Fix: Expand radius slightly.
3
🏪 Competition?
More advertisers = higher auction prices. Check if competitors are running aggressive campaigns. Fix: Better creatives that win more auctions (higher CTR).
4
📅 Seasonality?
Q4 (Oct-Dec) CPMs spike 30-50% because of holiday advertisers. January drops. This is normal. Fix: Set client expectations ahead of time.

📝 5. Lead Form Not Working — Testing Checklist

☐ Click your own ad — Does the form actually open? Sometimes forms get disconnected.
☐ Submit a test lead — Fill in fake data and submit. Does it go through?
☐ Check the leads center — Go to Business Manager → Leads Center. Are leads showing up there?
☐ Check CRM integration — If connected to a CRM, are leads flowing through? Check the connection status.
☐ Check email notifications — Is the client getting email alerts for new leads? Set this up in Page Settings.
☐ Test on mobile AND desktop — Sometimes forms break on one device but not the other.
☐ Check form questions — Too many fields = people abandon. Keep it to 3-4 fields max (name, phone, email, one question).
🖥️ SHOW ON SCREEN: Open Ads Manager → click on a lead form ad → click "Preview" → walk through the form as if you're a customer. Show how to test it yourself before a client reports a problem.
