Build a copy agent inside Claude Code that's trained to write ads for local businesses. Not generic ChatGPT slop — a properly trained agent that knows your client's voice, their audience, and what converts on Meta. Say "write me 10 hooks for this pizza shop" and get usable copy in 30 seconds.

🧠 Step 1: Build Your Copy Agent

Open your CLAUDE.md file and add this section. Now every time you ask Claude for copy, it follows these rules automatically:

## Ad Copy Rules ### How I Write Ads - Sound like a real person talking, never like a marketing textbook - Short sentences. Punchy. Easy to read on a phone while scrolling - Lead with the problem or the desire, never with the business name - Every ad needs a hook in the first line that stops the scroll - Write at a 6th grade reading level. No jargon. - Include a clear CTA. Tell them exactly what to do next. ### What I Never Do - No fake urgency ("ONLY 3 SPOTS LEFT" when there's unlimited spots) - No income claims or guarantees unless the client can back it up - No clickbait that doesn't deliver - No walls of text. Max 5-7 lines for primary text. - Nothing that would get flagged by Meta ad policies

Hook Formulas

#1
Problem-Agitate
"Tired of [problem]? Here's why it keeps happening..."
#2
Result-Lead
"[Specific result] in [timeframe]. Here's how."
#3
Question
"What would you do with [desirable outcome]?"
#4
Pattern Interrupt
Start with something unexpected
#5
Social Proof
"[Number] people in [location] already did this..."
#6
Us vs Them
"Most [businesses] do X. We do Y."

📋 Step 2: Set Up a Client Copy Brief

Before you generate any copy, Claude needs to know about the client. Create a file called clients/[client-name].md in your project folder:

# Client: [Business Name] ## Business Info - Type: [pizza shop / dentist / gym / etc.] - Location: [city, state] - Target audience: [who are their customers] - Price range: [cheap / mid / premium] - What makes them different: [their unique angle] ## Voice & Tone - [casual / professional / fun / serious] - How the owner talks: [give examples] - Words they use / Words to avoid ## Current Offers - [Main offer they're running right now] ## Past Winners - [Any ad copy or angles that worked before] ## Competitors - [Main local competitors and what they say in ads]

💡 This takes 10 minutes per client. Saves you hours later because Claude remembers everything in this file and writes copy that actually sounds like the business.

✍️ Step 3: Generate Ad Copy

Basic Request

write 5 facebook ad variations for [client name]. the goal is [leads / store visits / sales]. the offer is [what they're promoting]. give me the hook, primary text, headline, and CTA for each.

Advanced Request

i need 10 scroll-stopping hooks for [client name]'s [offer]. target audience: [who]. angle: [problem-aware / solution-aware / unaware]. make half question-based and half pattern interrupts. keep them under 15 words each.

Creative Concept Request

give me 5 ad creative concepts for [client name]. for each one describe: - the visual (what the image or video should show) - the hook text overlay - the primary text - the headline format it so i can hand this to a designer or film it myself.

🔄 Step 4: The Iteration Loop

First drafts are rarely perfect. Here's how to go from zero to 9+ polished ad variations in under 10 minutes:

Round 1: Generate 10 variations
→
Round 2: Pick top 3, make punchier
→
Round 3: 3 angles per winner

Round 2 Prompt

these are my top 3. make each one punchier. shorter sentences. stronger hooks. remove anything that sounds like AI wrote it.

Round 3 Prompt

now give me 3 different angles for each of these. same offer, different emotional triggers. one focused on fear of missing out. one focused on aspiration. one focused on solving a specific pain point.

📈 Step 5: Train Your Agent Over Time

This is what separates you from someone just using ChatGPT. Every time an ad performs well, add it to your client file:

## Proven Winners - Hook: "Your neighbors are already ordering from us. You're missing out." - CTR: 3.2%, Cost per lead: $8.40 - Why it worked: social proof + local angle - Hook: "We made 47 pizzas before noon today. Here's why." - CTR: 4.1%, Cost per lead: $6.20 - Why it worked: specific number + curiosity ## What Didn't Work - Generic "best pizza in town" angles: 0.4% CTR, killed after $50 - Long-form storytelling: nobody reads it on mobile - Discount-only hooks: attracts cheap customers, bad LTV

💡 After a month of this, your agent knows your client's audience better than most human copywriters would. It references what actually worked. Your agent gets smarter over time. That's the whole point.

🎬 Step 6: UGC Script Generation

A lot of best performing ads are UGC (user-generated content) style videos. Claude can write those scripts too:

write a 30-second UGC script for [client name]. format: person talking to camera, casual, like a real testimonial. the hook has to work in the first 2 seconds. include camera directions in [brackets]. the CTA should feel natural, not salesy.

Output looks like:

[close-up face, mid-sentence energy] "ok so i was literally about to order dominos again..." [pulls back to show the pizza] "...and then someone told me about [business name] and bro." [takes a bite] "i'm never going back. this is $12 and it's better than anything i've had." [shows the menu on phone] "they're on [street name]. just go. trust me."

Hand that to a creator or film it yourself. Done.
